At Indigenous Sport Circle NWT, our vision is to cultivate healthy, active, and culturally connected Indigenous communities throughout the Northwest Territories. We are dedicated to building local capacity, promoting culturally relevant programming, and developing athletes and coaches in ways that resonate with their personal and community values.

Community Development

We support the growth of sport programming in NWT communities by providing funding and fostering enduring partnerships with local and territorial sport organizations. Our goal is to help communities build sustainable sport initiatives.

    The Traditional Games Championships is an annual event for athletes between the ages of 10 and 12 years old. It is a Northern Games and Dene Games competition between schools across the Northwest Territories.

    The Indigenous Summer Games are held every second summer. It is celebration of Traditional Games, Indigenous Peoples and their culture. This event is for athletes aged 13 and older.

A collaboration between ISCNWT, NWT Softball, and Hockey NWT, the ARCAN Sport Facility is a versatile 4,500-square-foot space designed to maximize utility. This multipurpose venue serves as an ideal location for territorial and local sports organizations to hold coaching clinics, athlete development camps, and training sessions.
