ISCNWT Scholarship Deadline Approaching

The Indigenous Sports Circle of the Northwest Territories (ISCNWT) Scholarship offers a fantastic opportunity for Indigenous students in the NWT to pursue post-secondary education in fields related to sport, recreation, culture, and Indigenous studies. With a deadline of September 30, 2024, this scholarship provides financial support to those committed to improving the lives of Indigenous communities.

Purpose of the Scholarship

The ISCNWT Scholarship is designed to offer financial assistance to Indigenous NWT students pursuing post-secondary education. It focuses on students whose studies relate to sport, recreation, culture, or Indigenous issues, helping them use their education to contribute positively to their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the ISCNWT Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an Indigenous resident of the NWT.

  • Must be entering their second year or later of post-secondary studies and be in good standing with their educational institution.

  • Preference is given to students studying Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Administration, Business related to Sport/Recreation, Indigenous Studies, or education focused on improving Indigenous lives, though other fields are also considered.

Successful applicants can receive up to $2,000 in financial assistance. Each year, ISCNWT's scholarship committee selects between one and five recipients. Payments are made to the recipients in November, helping to alleviate financial burdens related to their education.
